USC Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship

The University of South Carolina Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship program was established in 1988
to encourage the academically talented children of the University’s alumni to attend their parent’s alma
mater. Awards are made to entering freshmen. You can apply for this scholarship as soon as you apply
for admission; please apply early. This scholarship is for incoming freshmen only. There are no
exceptions.

Legacy scholarships are funded by the USC Alumni Association and the contributions of its
members. As funds permit, awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis to those who meet all
requirements and have applied by the deadline date. You may continue to send us updated GPA scores
up until the deadline of March 1, 2024.

The amount of the Legacy award is $500 per academic year. Half of the yearly scholarship amount is
issued each semester for a maximum of eight semesters (summer school excluded), provided eligibility
is maintained.

Applicants are urged to apply as early as possible. Scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 school
year will not be considered after March 1, 2024.

This award is exclusive to incoming freshmen—NO exceptions.
At least one parent, legal guardian or grandparent must be a graduate of a USC campus and a current
member of the University of South Carolina Alumni Association. To be awarded the scholarship,
