McCausland Intern's Summer Internship Scholars Program

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of the Peter and Bonnie McCausland and the McCausland Foundation, the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences is able to offer summer internship scholarship for $3000 as part of our McCausland Summer Internship Scholars Program.

A comprehensive evaluation from your internship supervisor at the end of your internship

Student Eligibility To be eligible for the McCausland Summer Intern program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be a current undergraduate degree seeking student in the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences during the time of application, during the internship, and during the following fall semester
Complete at least 24 credit hours of coursework at USC Columbia prior to the start of the internship
Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA during Spring term prior to internship, be in good academic standing and financial standing, and agree to adhere to the Carolinian Creed
Secure internship for the summer semester session (May 11, 2026 – July 30, 2026) that will consist of at least 120 hours over the course of 10 weeks
Submit application materials prior to the application deadline of March 27, 2026

Internship Eligibility To be eligible for the McCausland Internship Scholarship program, internships must meet the following criteria:
Internship must be paid unless it is an official government entity or non-profit organization
Internship cannot be at a home-based business
Internship supervisor cannot be a relative
Internship employer must be willing and able to sign the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences employer agreement

Additional Requirements
Recipients will be required to enroll in a 1-credit hour internship course during the summer academic semester
Recipients will be required to attend an orientation lunch prior to their internship experience that is scheduled to be held on Friday, April 24th and the celebration networking lunch on Friday, August 21st
Recipients may only receive one financial award to support their internship experience
Recipients are only eligible to receive the McCausland Intern scholarship once during their time as a USC student
Award recipients will be selected by a selection committee, based on their application, statement of purpose (how the award will support their academic and professional goals), and the availability of funds
